Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm. The Annual Parish Meeting is in May of each year and takes place at on the same day as the Parish Council meeting, usually immediately before it. Future meeting dates for 2021 are as follows:
5th May (brought forward to allow a virtual meeting), 23rd June, 14th July, 11th August, 8th September, 13th October, 10th November and 8th December.
All Parish Council meetings are now being held remotely. Even when we are not in lockdown, the guidance from the National Association of Local Councils is that, for now, physical meetings should not be held unless there is no other way of transacting business.
The Parish Council is using Zoom to host the meetings. To join a meeting, please go to www.zoom.us and click on “join a meeting” in the top righthand corner. You will be asked for a meeting I.D. which is always 923 424 0664, and a passcode which will be ParishC followed by the two digits that relate to the current month. For example, the passcode for November’s meeting will be ParishC11. The passcode is case sensitive. It is advisable to “arrive” for the meeting about 10 minutes early if you are not familiar with Zoom. You will be placed in a waiting room until the meeting begins. If you have difficulty in accessing the meeting, please email the Clerk.
The Agendas and Minutes for the meetings of the Affpuddle and Turnerspuddle Parish Council are available below. These cover the current civic year which runs from May 1st to April 30th. Some older minutes are also available. We are working towards having minutes available from the previous three civic years (this starts May of each year) as well as the current one. For now, if you would like to view copies of the minutes of earlier meetings that are not currently available on the website, please contact the Clerk by email:
1. Formal Minutes are made publicly available after they have been approved at the next meeting. For example September’s Minutes will be available on this site sometime after the October meeting. However, draft minutes of the most recent meeting are available for up to date information but must be treated with care as they will not have been approved by the full Council.
2. There is sometimes no meeting in August.
An inaugural meeting of the Affpuddle and Turnerspuddle Parish Council COVID-19 Response Group was rapidly arranged and held on Monday 16 March. Further meetings have been held as required.
An Annual Parish Meeting is an opportunity for members of the public to receive an update from the Parish Council. Other local groups and organisations are offered the opportunity to also provide an update. The meeting is open to members of the public to ask questions and raise local issues or concerns. This meeting is less formal than Council meetings and members of the public are encouraged to participate throughout. The May 2021 Annual Parish Meeting will be held remotely using Zoom. The Parish Council understands that some residents may be unable to access such a meeting and so written representations can also be sent to the Clerk in advance of the meeting.
Please note that the Annual Parish Meeting 2020 was cancelled due to Coronavirus.
Please note that the June meeting is to be held remotely. Details of how to join the meeting are included at the end of the agenda.
Please note that the May meeting was held remotely and it was not the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council as this has been postponed.
