Meetings are typically held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm. The Annual Parish Meeting is in May of each year and takes place at on the same day as the Parish Council meeting, usually immediately before it. Future meeting dates through 2023 are as follows:
April 12th, May 10th (including Parish Meeting), 14th June, 12th July, 9th August, 13th September, 11th October, 8th November, 13th December.
The Parish Council is no longer able to hold online meetings due to legislation. Meetings are once again being held in Briantspuddle Village Hall but in the main hall where there is more space for social distancing. Any residents who wish to raise a local issue or comment on an agenda item may contact the Clerk in advance of the meeting if they would prefer not to attend in person.
The Agendas and Minutes for the meetings of the Affpuddle and Turnerspuddle Parish Council are available below. These cover the current civic year which runs from May 1st to April 30th. Some older minutes are also available. We are working towards having minutes available from the previous three civic years (this starts May of each year) as well as the current one. For now, if you would like to view copies of the minutes of earlier meetings that are not currently available on the website, please contact the Clerk by email:
Please note:
1. Formal Minutes are made publicly available after they have been approved at the next meeting. For example September’s Minutes will be available on this site sometime after the October meeting. However, draft minutes of the most recent meeting are available for up to date information but must be treated with care as they will not have been approved by the full Council.
2. There is sometimes no meeting in August.
The Parish Council is deeply saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The Queen made good her vow of service which she embraced at the tender age of 21. At the time of her passing, we want to express our thanks for this service and her life well lived. The example The Queen set throughout her long reign will continue to endure as a vivid inspiration to us all and for this we are most grateful.
During the period of National Mourning, as a mark of respect, the September meeting of The Parish Council was cancelled.
Please note the minutes of June Parish Council Meeting were amended 14/07/2022
An Annual Parish Meeting is an opportunity for members of the public to receive an update from the Parish Council. Other local groups and organisations are offered the opportunity to also provide an update. The meeting is open to members of the public to ask questions and raise local issues or concerns. This meeting is less formal than Council meetings and members of the public are encouraged to participate throughout.
The May 2021 Annual Parish Meeting was held remotely using Zoom.
This group was established in 2021 as required by the planning consent for the slurry lagoon (WD/D/18/001035). See terms of reference for further details.
